Read: Psalm 46
Key Verse: 10
Observations: This chapter paints an incredible picture of peace, the peace that only God brings. Read it more than once today. Ponder the words and the images it presents.
Application: This is just a random thought out of the line of Romans today. As many of you may know, I am entering a battle with cancer in my pancreas. I was not prepared for the spiritual battle that I was going to face going into this. The enemy has attacked me in so many ways but the most profound way is how he has attacked my faith and caused doubt and fear to master me. He has stolen my hope and my peace through this. In the past couple of days, hope has come back and I am now trying to listen for God’s voice. Today as I was praying the spirit led me to this familiar passage and then just called me to slow down, quiet my mind, be still and listen to God. He led me back to this key verse: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Let that verse wash over you today, let the verse change your thinking, let that verse penetrate deep into your soul.
Prayer: Father, as I quiet my mind, as I become still, let me know that you are God and you are still in control of everything I may face.
